On March 23rd and 24th our Nerd Zone DevCamp took place in Karlsruhe. Host of the camp was Gameforge AG. Over 100 participants have shared several themes of software development and were able to get in touch with local IT-companies such as Exxeta AG, Unic GmbH, Brandmaker GmbH, Der Punkt GmbH and Synyx GmbH.

On the route they have to answer six tricky questions about Java, PHP or system administration. If they answer correctly, they will be rewarded with goodies: in the cinema, a café, restaurant and many more. Wikipedia says: A hackathon (also known as a hack day, hackfest or codefest) is an event in which computer programmers and others in the field of software development, like graphic designers, interface designers and project managers, collaborate intensively on software-related projects. At the Nerd-Zone HacKAthon in Karlsruhe more than 50 coder worked hard within 24 hours to program an app which should be useful for nerdy residential communities.

Am 23.11.2010 fand der 6. Catch-the-Job in der TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe statt. Per Bus-Shuttle wurden knapp 80 Studenten einen Tag lang zu 9 IT-Unternehmen in der Region gebracht. Präsentationen und kleine Workshops vermitteln die Tätigkeitsfelder der Unternehmen und berufliche Perspektiven.
